- Rare Alfa Romeo Minibus
- Charmingly restored in Italy
- Matching numbers engine and chassis
- Ideal historic motor sports support vehicle

Although better known for its more sporting products, Alfa Romeo also produced the 'Autotutto' ('all purpose') Romeo, a small commercial delivery van. The first, T10, version was launched at the 1954 Turin Motor Show in panel-van and minibus variants; a host of other body types followed. The Autotutto is notable as Alfa Romeo's first commercial vehicle built with left-hand drive, all its predecessors being right-hand drive. Alfa Romeo did not develop a special engine for the front-wheel-drive Autotutto, but instead used a de-tuned version of its classic 1.3-litre twin-cam four, as found in the Giulietta. A twin-cylinder supercharged two-stroke diesel was available as an option. Suspension was independent all round, sprung by transverse torsion bars at the rear. This feature plus its front-drive layout gave the versatile Autotutto a large, flat and low load area, while making it relatively easy to extend the chassis to accommodate longer bodywork.

According to the accompanying Certificate of Origin issued by Alfa Romeo, this stunning Romeo Autotutto left the factory on 7th January 1955 on its way to its first owner in Palermo, Sicily. Alfa Romeo also confirm that the engine is the original twin-cylinder two-stroke diesel unit first fitted to the vehicle.

The Autotutto changed hands in 1963 when it was bought by a resident of Modena and, as was the custom at the time, the number plate changed too, signifying its relocation from Palermo to Modena. The Autotutto formed part of a well-known collection in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy before our vendor, who specializes in these Alfa Romeos, purchased the vehicle and embarked on a comprehensive restoration of the body while also transforming the interior to this stunning camper van specification. The vendor mentioned that a swap to the alternative 1.3-litre twin-cam Giulietta engine would be quite straightforward but he preferred to keep the original diesel engine.

The interior features a bench which folds out to form a double bed; a foldable table; multiple storage units; a sink with both fresh and used water reservoirs; and a gas stove complete with gas canister. Additional features include a picnic hamper and a foldable camping table with incorporated seats. A charming and rare find, the Autotutto is offered with the aforementioned Certificate of Origin; older Italian registration documents; and a photographic record of the restoration.

An interesting alternative to the more common offerings from Volkswagen, this delightful Autotutto would certainly be the ideal support vehicle at Goodwood, Le Mans Classic or other historic race meetings.

Hat über 100.000.- Euro mit Kompletter Restauration gekostet.
